For generations the Sturrock families have a great reputation when it comes to the water, both for their competitveness on the water, and sound technical advice off the water. 

In 1979, the three Sturrock brothers John, David and Doug, founded  "The Famous Sturrock's of Sydney" . The business grew from a retail shop west of the harbour bridge, through ownership of boatyards to its current home in Rushcutters Bay.

In 2004 John and Evan Sturrock opened Sturrocks Boatique in Mosman on Sydney's lower north shore.

in 2009, Sturrocks Boatique was rebranded as "Sturrocks".
